For seven weeks, I am going to have the incredible opportunity to work at Covenant House of New Orleans. I'll be working side-by-side with both the CFO and the CEO of the organization as a budget analyst. I'm particularly excited about this opportunity for a few reasons. First, I hope to apply what I've learned in both of my courses of study and gain experience which will help me in the "real world" next year. Second, I love the work that Covenant House does. Covenant House provides food, medical service, and shelter to over one hundred homeless and abused children in New Orleans every day, and I feel honored to help in even the slightest way. Finally, I'm so thrilled to be living in New Orleans. I have dreamed of living in this city for years now, and in just the first week, the vibrant people, delicious food, and ideal weather have surpassed all of my expectations.
