Week one in NOLA has been amazing. We arrived last Saturday and are finishing up our first week of work. Our first week has been filled with exciting new experience, and all of us are excited about our work. I work downtown with Tulane's Psychiatry Department, but many of us are working all over the city.
There has definitely been a learning curve for learning how to use public transportation, learning to cook, finding various restaurants, etc., but everyone has been adjusting well and starting to get into the rhythm of things.
One thing that has stuck out the most for us is how nice the people have been to us! Everyone has been very welcoming and more than willing to walk up and talk with us about anything. The people really go out of their way to help you. It's been one of the best welcome's to a city that I've ever had.
Couldn't ask for a better start to the summer in New Orleans.
